I was a dreamy child who loved to dance. Consequently, I grew up to pursue philosophy and the movement arts. I have kind of toggled between the two: working as a pilates/yoga teacher and massage therapist, and periodically retreating into philosophy to crunch through some of the questions that working with the body throws up.
I qualified as a Pilates teacher with Pilates Based Body Awareness and with the Pilates Foundation at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance, London; and as a yoga teacher with Shakti Mhi in Vancouver.
I qualified as a Thai Massage practitioner through Asokananda´s Sunshine Network in Spain and Glasgow; and as a Lomi Lomi massage practitioner with Anna Janya Gabriela of Lomi Lomi Nui in La Gomera.
I have twelve years´professional experience as a massage practitioner and movement teacher in London, Edinburgh and Istanbul.
I have a particular interest in Chinese healing, movement and energetic arts: I studied Chinese Traditional Medicine at Middlesex University for two years, Chien Lung martial arts with Constantine Darling in Vancouver in the early nineties, and Dao Yin with Tez Sawicki in Edinburgh.
I also hold a BA in philosophy from Durham University and an MSc in philosophy, with an emphasis on embodied cognition, from Edinburgh University.
I live in La Orotava with my two daughters.
